CR Fuels Launches Project VerdeJet One – A Regional First in Modular SAF Production

CR Fuels is proud to announce the launch of Project VerdeJet One, the company’s first modular Sustainable Aviation Fuel(SAF) production facility. Developed out of Perth, Western Australia and targeting deployment in the Euro-APAC region, Project VerdeJet One marks a major step in CR Fuels’ mission to decarbonise aviation through scalable, regionally adaptable SAF solutions.

The scoping study for Project VerdeJet One is now complete, confirming the technical and commercial viability of a decentralised, modular production model. CR Fuels is currently engaged in discussions with leading SAF technology providers to integrate proven pathways into the facility, including Alcohol to Jet (AtJ) and other ASTM-certified methods.

SAF is considered the most effective near-term tool to reduce aviation emissions, offering up to 80% lower lifecycle CO₂ emissions compared to fossil jet fuel. According to IATA and ICAO, SAF could contribute over 60% of the emissions reductions needed to reach net-zero aviation by 2050. With global and regional mandates such as CORSIA, IATA’s Net-Zero commitment, and blending targets now in place or under development across more than 40 countries, SAF demand is growing rapidly.

CR Fuels’ modular approach is designed to meet this demand by enabling rapid, flexible deployment of SAF capacity across the Euro-APAC region, tailored to regional feedstocks and demand centres. Project VerdeJet One will serve as the foundation for this regional rollout.

“Project VerdeJet One is our blueprint for delivering clean aviation fuel where it’s needed most,” said Rudolph van Niekerk, Executive Director of CR Fuels.

“It’s not just a project, it’s a platform. We’re building scalable, regionally adaptable infrastructure that can help EURO-APAC lead in sustainable skies.”

Beyond its environmental benefits, the project aims to strengthen energy security, stimulate green investment, and support regional economic development through circular feedstock partnerships.

CR Fuels now invites governments and investors to collaborate on bringing Project VerdeJet One to life and to expand this model across the region. With strong policy momentum, growing airline demand, and a proven modular model, now is the time to invest in Euro-APAC’s SAF future.
